Hide Paragraph Marks In Microsoft Word For Mac

Oct 03, 2020 There’s a keyboard shortcut for toggling invisible characters (like paragraph marks, and spaces, and tabs) in Microsoft Word on a Mac and as far as I know it’s worked in every version, since the very beginning. Command-8 does it. Command-8 to show them, Command-8 again to hide them. Select the text you want to hide, switch to the “Home” tab on the Ribbon, and then click the arrow at the bottom right of the “Font” group. This opens up the Font window. Turn on the “Hidden” option and then click the “OK” button. That’s all there is to it. Jun 19, 2018 The instructions below are for Microsoft Word for Mac, version 16. All of the options for showing formatting and styles will only show up on your screen—they will not affect the printed version of a document. Formatting marks. Showing/Hiding Non-printing Characters

Non-printing characters indicate where you ended a paragraph, pressed , or pressed (Figure 3.8). You can show or hide non-printing characters as you work on a Word document. Being able to see non-printing characters is especially helpful when you're trying to locate multiple tab characters where only one should be or when you're looking for errant punctuation, such as blank paragraphs or extra spaces. See Table 3.2 for a complete list of non-printing characters.
