High School Musical Drama

School

I am probably way past the acceptable age to be sucked into such drama, but going stir crazy in the middle of a pandemic has really lowered bar on what acceptable behavior is. And it looks like I am not the only one that feels that way. I mean just ask Sabrina Carpenter.

I will not lie. Despite the cumbersome title and semi-cringe, semi-classic movie series the show is based on, this show had managed to capture my heart! I fell in love with the young love between Nini and Ricky. Both down to earth, hard working, and talented kids. Rather than having the a static villan like Sharpy, they introduced Sofie. They slowly pealed back her layers and humanized her. I can go on about how much I loved the show, but this is just a segway to the drama or HSMTMTSTD if you will!

  • High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The Drama Sabrina Carpenter is now telling her side of the story with a surprise single, “Skin.” 'skin' in the game 11:22 a.m.
  • The Theater Program at Capistrano Valley High School includes a comprehensive performing arts training. We offer training in Drama, Choir, Pit Orchestra, Stagecraft, and Musical Production. Three levels of Drama are offered including: Drama 1, Advanced Drama, and Actors' Repertory. The after school productions are audition-only but are open to all.

The young couple that we all fell in love with (maybe just me I am a sucker for a good love story), fell out of love. And of course, the natural order of things: girl meets boy -> they fall in love -> they break up -> a career changing song is written. Well that is the case if you are Taylor swift or Olivia Rodrigo. I am of course referring to Driver’s Licience by Olivia Rodrigo (Nini). It is currently number 1 on Billboards the hot 100.

When it was released speculations ran wild on whether it was about Joshua Basset or not. The lyrics refering to Sabrina Carpenter, Joshua’s new beau, were incriminating, but vague enough.

And you’re probably with that blonde girl
Who always made me doubt
She’s so much older than me
She’s everything I’m insecure about
Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs
‘Cause how could I ever love someone else?

The speculation continued until Sabrina all but confirmed in her newest single, Skin, that Olivia’s song is about her.

Maybe we could have been friends
If I met you in another life
Maybe then we could pretend
There’s no gravity in the words we write
Maybe you didn’t mean it
Maybe “blonde” was the only rhyme
The only rhyme
